What is it to be a Trainer
I have always had a desire to help people and share with them knowledge that will assist them in life. After many years of experience, skills and knowledge that I had attained over a period of 20 years in bookkeeping and accounting, I decided that I wanted to impart that knowledge on to other’s – I knew that would help them gain the skills I have as well as support the bookkeeping industry.
I researched the requirements to become a trainer and that is when my own study begun. I have achieved a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Certificate IV in Bookkeeping and a Diploma of Accounting.
I have now been a trainer for 6 years and still love teaching new students so they can gain a qualification. The best part of my job as a trainer is seeing students achieve their goals, witnessing students gain the skills and knowledge towards the career they desire. When you are teaching a new skill, that moment when you see the light bulb go off and you know the student understands – is why I became a trainer and still find it exhilarating each time.
By being supportive and giving student’s options when studying, this achieves a motivated student who wants to keep going. I like to keep in regular contact with my students to keep their momentum and drive at its peak.
Feedback from previous students keeps me driven and determined to help more students. My students like the real life experiences I pass onto them to help them get job ready.
The ultimate joy as a trainer is when you discover that your student has gained employment in the industry you have taught them.
