What is Workplace Training?
To undertake Workplace Training, Students will either be currently employed in a relevant job role or have access to a workplace to complete work experience. Employer supported training provides access to continued practice and implementation of learnt skills and knowledge, it also provides a Student the opportunity to ask questions and gain additional training and support from their Supervisor in a working environment. They also have access to other employees who lead by example and provide informal coaching and guidance.
When Students are actively involved and participating in real activities relating to their current or future job, they also develop and improve their independence, self-confidence and maturity in the workplace.
Delivery
This delivery method includes a number of Face-to-face training sessions in the workplace by an Orion Trainer. The training sessions incorporate both theory and practical based activities.
Students are provided with a hard copy textbook, a Training Record Book and a Study Guide outlining the prescribed structured learning and activities to complete in between scheduled training sessions. These resources enhance Student engagement and provide an opportunity for Students to practice their skills in preparation for their final assessments.
All Students are encouraged and supported to complete their own self-directed learning. Undertaking further research and additional reading outside of the structured activities reinforces comprehension of the learning content. Students are provided with access to sample documents and templates, extra activities, weblinks and videos.
Student Support
Orion is committed to supporting each and every student throughout their learning journey for successful training outcomes and employment opportunities.
Follow up training for each Unit of Competency is conducted via phone or skype between training sessions and Students are offered the opportunity to call or email their Trainer as needed.
Orion offers access to Student Support 5 days a week. Students can contact Orion’s Student Support team to ask questions, gain support or access further information and additional resources.
